Application of magnetron sputtering:
Magnetron sputtering is one of the most functional technique in PVD area. There are DC magnetron sputtering and MF(medium frequency)magnetron sputtering. DC sputtering is usually used for direct sputtering, during this process, there will only involves the argon gas to improve the ionization of metal target(we call the raw material as a "target'). You will see people use this technique for plastic disposable silvering cutlery, high end cosmetic parts, solar collection tubes industry, silver and aluminum mirror manufacturing, etc.
MF sputtering is usually used for decorative purposes. Because you can get as more colors as possible by using this technique. It is also involved in technical coatings for tools, molds, and punches. The ions made by sputtering is fine. It can be made upon the coating layers made by cathodic arc deposition technique.
